| About Me
I am an Illinois Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
in private practice and offer psychotherapy services to
adult individuals, couples, and families. My experience
includes working with adults across the spectrum of issues,
from the ‘worried well’ at one end of the spectrum
to those suffering from chronic mental illness at the other
end.
My general private practice includes several specialties:
Dialectical Behavior Therapy, including “life skills”
training; treatment of trauma-based disorders including
sexual, physical, and emotional abuse; women’s issues;
marital, divorce, and other relationship issues, including
the Imago relationship perspective; family systems therapy;
and EMDR.
Engaging in the work of psychotherapy with my clients is
for me a very special privilege and sacred trust. My clients
know me as caring and compassionate, someone who can understand
and feel their pain and will never ever make them feel judged
for the choices they have made, for who they are, or for
where they have been.
We work together to make sense of everything in their lives,
both past and present, not to judge it. I help them define
areas where they believe they might make changes to help
them feel, think, and act more effectively and skillfully.
Ultimately I work to contribute to my clients’ growing
sense of safety and wellbeing, culminating in lives that
are for them worth living and filled with a renewed sense
of meaning and purpose.
